Welcome

Jeff Haws is a published author of fast-paced, suspenseful fiction, an award-winning journalist, and an obsessor over words and writing. He’s gone from documenting the world around him to creating worlds of his own for him — and you — to explore.

“The Solitary Apocalypse” is his second full-length novel and fourth published book, including two novellas. It’s dystopian suspense, using the backdrop of a small town in North Georgia after a massive worldwide plague to explore the psychological impact of isolation and the moral relativity that comes along with the responsibility to lead people.

Jeff has been writing for more than 20 years, from shivering outside at high school football games to walking the halls of the Capitol in DC. His writing has been published by the Washington Post, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Miami Herald, Philadelphia Enquirer, New Orleans Times-Picayune, and many other news publications. In 2004, he won the Georgia Associated Press Sports Feature of the Year.

After leaving the his job as a full-time reporter, he continued to do freelance work before turning his attention to fiction writing in 2015. He began writing his first novel, “Killing the Immortals,” in mid December 2015 and completed the rough draft at the end of January 2016.

His novels will mostly settle in the suspense/thriller/dystopian realm, looking at how flawed people deal with worlds that seem to be spinning out of control around them. In his shorter works, like “Tomorrow’s News Today” and “The Slingshot,” he’ll explore various topics and genres, giving the reader a glimpse into new worlds, new characters, and different approaches, some shocking and some poignant.

Jeff loves getting a chance to interact with readers and talk about writing, whether it’s his or not. You can find him all over social media. Feel free to connect and engage any time.
